CCKY ARES needs you — make a difference.
We’re a local group of licensed amateur radio operators who volunteer to support Christian County during emergencies and community events. When normal communications are overloaded or unavailable, amateur radio can provide a resilient alternative.
What is ARES?
The Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES®) consists of licensed amateurs who voluntarily register their qualifications and equipment with local ARES leadership for communications duty in the public service when disaster strikes.
What we do
- Provide supplemental communications for emergency response and recovery
- Support public service events with coordinated radio communications
- Train, practice nets, and deploy portable stations when needed
Training & readiness
We emphasize safety, clear message handling, and practical field skills. New to emergency communications? We’ll help you get started.
Get involved
If you are a licensed amateur radio operator (any license class), you can participate. If you represent a local agency or organization and would like to coordinate communications support, email us with your contact details and the best way to follow up.
